Sick. Bleh.

Goddamn I picked up something nasty in Edmonton last week.

Right now I can't run much more than 15k-20k before I start hacking, coughing, wheezing and have to stop.

This means that unless I get a lot better in a hell of a hurry, next weekend's trip to Vancouver is off. And for the THIRD YEAR in a bloody row I will have to cancel my Vancouver Marathon registration.

There is something about this race that is just conspiring not to let me attend. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Feck.

We'll see.

I'ma go out for a 30k test run this Sunday. If I can make it without, y'know, dying, then I'll head to Vancouver and put my best effort in - and whatever happens, happens.

But if I have to cut it short on Sunday without making the 30k, then that will be my cue to cancel my plane ticket.

But best of luck in your race, regardless!

Actually, YES!!

This last bout hit me really hard, but then cleared out almost as fast. Other than a little bit of sniffling, I'm feeling almost back to normal already.

I just got back from doing a 30k test run. Felt a little more dehydrated than normal in the last 5k, but other than that, no ill effects so far. My time was also pretty decent (which I didn't expect at all). If I still feel fine tomorrow morning, then the Vancouver Marathon is back on!

I'll head out, put my best effort in, and I'll see where that gets me. So I hope to see you there!
