So, like, yay!
After 2 years of humming and hawing and "maybe"-ing and "it's coming"-ing, they've FINALLY started construction on the new Computer Science building here. Which is so welcome. Currently, even though the comp sci program accounts, by enrolment numbers, for almost 1/8 of the whole university, we do not have our own building, but instead are crammed into a corner of the basement of the Physics building, with profs' offices scattered all over campus, and are constantly having to beg and borrow lab space from wherever we can get it (ie: Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Business, etc.).
But yeah, they've finally broken ground, and the building's supposed to be ready for September (not like that'll happen, but at least progress is being made).
And I've found out that in concert with the new building, they are going to be expanding the CS program wide open, adding all sorts of new courses, including an AI section (which I'm really looking forward to, as that's my main area of interest) and even starting up a CS Master's Degree program.
