No, Nethack, Noooooo!
Argh, dammit! Where did my weekend go and why oh why did I reinstall that dang-blasted game?

Sigh.

Well, goodbye, grades!

I was supposed to read AT LEAST two of the four chapters on my polisci book today for my exam tomorrow. I've just started, and obviously I'll be glad if I go through one. Alpha Centauri is to blame here, but since I'm getting sick and tired of that game, I think that you just gave me a great idea.

I've never played Alpha Centauri with other people though, so if it's your type of thing, I'd be up for a multiplayer game. I wonder if one can use custom skins over the network...

Thanks, but no. I only have a Windows copy, and I don't have Windows installed on my system right now (does A.C. even have a Linux version? I seem to recall not).

And besides, I've wasted enough hours this weekend already. I DO have 2 assignments, both due tomorrow, that I really should be working on now...

Ok, nevermind. Apparently Loki did make a version of Alpha Centauri for Linux. However I don't have it, and Loki is now defunct. So...

I bought AC for linux at the firesale they held when Loki went under. I can probably rip it and hook you up, however, apparently the Windows version used some proprietary MS networking system for the multiplayer, so the Linux version won't play against the Windows one.

I think it uses MSN Messenger for networking. Any time I have MSN loaded up, it turns my status to "busy" when I load AC.

I really need to install Debian or Ubuntu or something.

The game offer is up for even after exams 8)

Fuck. I finally found the Alpha Centauri: Alien Crossfire expansion pack, but now AC doesn't work at all on this machine. The README suggests reducing the resolution to the game's resolution and colour depth, but my gfx card doesn't go down to 8-bit colour. Sigh. I also got what I think is the Linux version of AC. Maybe it's time to fire up the Pentium 90 after all, install linux and test it on there.

Ahh, good ol' GradeKiller. I was just thinking of reinstalling today, since it's the full moon (I am tragically unable to look at the full moon without thinking "Ooh! +1 to luck!". curse you nethack.), but was able to restrain myself with the thought of how I haven't studied for my finals yet.

Yes! Full moon! (As I've discovered. Guess how I knew?)

Highest score ever this eve!

Although said highest score ever is still sufficiently low that I won't embarass myself by posting it.

Hmm. Addictive game indeed. Now that I got killed, I'm going back to my reading.
