I suk
Ok, this Intercal compiler was a really, spectacularly bad idea. I totally overstepped my abilities.

I'm really seriously thinking of dropping the course. Leaving me with two 500-levels to pick up in the fall, but that's only a minor change of plans. Also taking a hit to my academic transcript, but meh. Also leaving me with no idea what to do for a Master's thesis, since this move will likely pretty irretrievably burn my bridges with Dr. Aycock.

Damn I suk.

1) Go talk to your prof right now, try to clear this up. If he's human he might regear your course, give you more time or something. You could get a defered grade and have more time to finish the project.

2) What do you mean, destroy your GPA? Doesn't your university just scrub a dropped course from your record?

Yeah. Poor wording. Won't destroy my GPA... but nor will it be entirely removed from the record. It'll still show up as a "W", and they DO look at that when you apply to grad school.

Oh, that sucks. I don't think they show that on our grade reports. *checks* Indeed. Unless we get a grade report than the one that's online.

That seems... odd. I know they record withdrawls here, and they did at AUS. From what my parents have said, it's standard practice everywhere. My Mom (who was for a while on the board of admissions at Langara college -- not grad school, but still) has indicated that W's are most definitely taken into account.

I have one W on my transcript. Any idea how big a deal this would be?

Not really.

Probably not a big deal. Even mine -- counting as 2 -- probably wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm just paranoid.
