Grrrrrowl.

Trike.ca is down for the count and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it from here. You have no idea how much this ticks me off. This means: no email, no MSN, no ICQ, no kitten pictures. And of course this happens the same day that UofC finally gets off its ass and posts all my final grades, so I have to send a bunch of emails to people in the administration so's they can officially clear me for grad school and I can register for courses. But the information I need to do this is on my computer, which is... you guessed it.

So now I basically have to sit on my ass, wait for Room-mate to get back from Kamloops (should be the 3rd, as I understand it), cross my fingers and hope that (A) he notices something is wrong, and (B) it's something easy (like the router needing to be power-cycled) that he can fix on his own.

Because in the meantime I have no way of contacting him, short of a phone call so expensive it'll make my dad go through the roof.

Sigh.

AN-Y-WAY:
Meme time. I post this one only because it's cute.

In the year 2006 I resolve to:

Get myself admitted to a mental institution.

Or you could give me the phone number and I'd call him.

Thanks for the offer, but actually I wasn't very clear.

My suspicion is that there is no net in the house at all right now, and he will instantly notice that fact as soon as he gets home. So in all probability, I will not have to send him a note to let him know there's a problem.

The problem may be, however, non-simple to solve. In other words, he may have to muck about with the server a bit to get it back up (It's as automated as I can make it, but still hiccups every now and then and requires manual intervention). Now, to guide him through that process, I'd need to be pretty much in continuing communication with him while he while he was messing about in the frankenbeast's internals, in order to diagnose and fix things.

So thanks again for the offer, but probably wouldn't help all that much.
