krazy kat

It's just been one of those nights.

*sigh*

Ok, so just before I go out to umpire, I get a note that there will be a tabmeet tonight. Sounds cool, except that I won't be able to make it, due to the aforementioned engagement. however, it turns out that the restaurant they will be at is relatively close to the park, so I can probably make it there by 9:00... will that be ok?

Sure... they should still be there at that point, and then we can do something else afterwards.

So, after my game, I go to the restaurant, and no tabnet. After much phoning around, I determine that they have decided to go somewhere else. Well, that's fine. So I hop on a bus downtown, get to the second restaurant at about 9:30, and discover that... no tabnet. Crap.

Much more phoning around ensues, and I am unable to discover where they might have gone off to. Oh well, I guess that's a write-off.

Hmm... maybe I can get my bike back from ministerphobia's place (having left it there post-wireforx last night). Phone him up... and apparently he is out. Write-off number 2.

Except this suxxorz a bit more, since it means I will have to walk all the way over there (about 4 miles) sometime... cuz' today was the last free day, and if you think I'm gonna give Translink one red cent after the shitznik they pulled, you're quite delusional.

So I'm heading down to the bus stop, and I decide that it would be the perfect opportunity to stop in at the music stores to pick up that new Fallacy Flow album that I've been hankering after (and I certainly won't be able to find in the UAE, that's for sure). Well, Virgin Megastore is a bust... but that's hardly unexpected; they've never been big on independent artists. But I have high hopes for HMV on Robson. Well, I wander over there... and it's gone! Where HMV once stood is now an Esprit store, plastered in big "OPENING SOON!" signs. Aaaaaaaghhh! That was one of the best music stores in Vancouver!

Write-off number 3... and this one's permanent.

Ok, fine, I remember that a band a friend of mine is in is playing at one of the bars over by The Q, so I take the SeaBus up there, and wouldn't you know it, they've already packed it in for the night? Write-off number 4.

Take the SeaBus back downtown, get to the bus stop, see from the schedule that there's about a 15 minute wait for my bus, so quickly duck into a pub for a pint of Guinness. All goes well, although I'm not too hot on sitting in a pub by myself, especially right near a group of friends all laughing and talking and obviously enjoying each others' company. O well. Time comes to pay, and I don't have change, so I try and flag down the server. And I try and I try... just to catch her eye, ANYthing.

FINALLY, she wanders by, I hastily get change, throw the money down on the table, run out the door... just to watch my bus leave the stop.

*groan*

Well... an hour or so later, I'm finally on the bus, heading home, and stopped at a light, what do I see beside us, but some lucky stiff crammed in a convertible with 5 (five) superfuckinghot (TM) chicks, all giggling and pawing at him.

May I remind the reader that I'm stuck on some sweaty, smelly bus?

*sigh*

I give up. This whole damn evening has been one big write-off.

(addendum: AND THEN WHEN I GO TO TRY AND POST THIS DAMN UPDATE, MY FUCKING COMPUTER CRASHES AND I LOSE IT ALL, AND I HAVE TO TYPE THE WHOLE DAMN THING OUT AGAIN FROM SCRATCH! AAARRRRR!!! KILL!!!)
