Keepin' on keepin' on...

Exhausted yet content.

Finished the first programming team practice session of the new term.

Well, not quite the first. We had one last week as well, but that was more of a "let's hammer out some schedules" than anything else. But this was the first real practice session. We used a past paper from the SW European 1996 competition. In two and a half hours, we managed 3 solutions, so that's not too shabby. But yeah, mentally draining.

In addition to the various work I'm doing this term, and my courseload, oh boy. I am incredibly busy this term.

I'm only taking 16 credits, but the timings are all lopsided, so I have these long stretches with no breaks. Then 2 hours a day of working in the Student Activities department (not IT as I'd intended, but I think this is better. The pay and hours are the same, but this is more software as opposed to hardware work, which is more my speed). And then I'm TA'ing for a bunch of classes.

So my schedule is basically 8:00AM to 4:30PM, without a break on Sat, Sun, Mon and Wed. Tuesdays are my "off" day, and I have nothing (except for the 2 hours' of work for OSA). So kind-of like a "mini weekend." But that's not including programming practice.

We have exactly 7 weeks until we go to Cairo on Oct. 31st. Starting next week, we're gonna start ramping up the practice session frequency, to 2x a week. Then 2 weeks at 3x a week. Then 4x a week for 2 weeks, and finally, we're gonna meet every day for the last 2 weeks. Then we'll win in Cairo and I can relax (a bit)!

So yeah, about 65 hours of practice between now and then. Exhausting, bit I think it'll put us in good stead.

Although it should be interesting to see if I survive this term intact :-)

Meow. Two for one. Just because I feel like it.
