This is a pretty spectacular feeling.
Now bear with me, here...
is something I just came up with, and if I say so myself, it feels pretty damn special. It's not exactly big, or long, or convoluted, but... well, it's mine. It's coherent, and solid. It's definitely useful.
And unlike most other lemmas or theorems I spout onto the page, it's brand new. It's not something I've ever seen before, and it seems to me not entirely implausible that no-one has ever come up with it until now (Dexter Kozen sidesteps the issue entirely). Moreover, it's not even (I don't think) an obvious extension of something I've seen before.
In short, it's "real math."
And it's mine.
"I'm all left feet today..."
